ENTRIES OPEN – DEADLINE: FRIDAY 13 MARCH 2026
With the ongoing demand for both Salers bulls and females the Society has added two new sales to its calendar.
One of these new sales will take place at Harrison & Hetherington’s Borderway Mart, Carlisle. The inspection and pedigree show is scheduled for Friday 8th May and the sale will be conducted on Saturday 9th May 2026. Please note that in addition to the usual pedigree and commercial sections, both of which will continue to follow existing Society sale regulations, we intend to introduce an additional category for non-health scheme members.
To enter this new section, animals must:
- Be owned by a current Society member
- Have a completed health declaration
- Comply with normal Society BVD requirements
- Comply with TB regulations
In this section, membership of a health scheme will not be required, and entrants not whole-herd testing for Johne’s will be listed as Level 5, although individual animal tests may be advertised on the pen.
Animals in this section will be deemed commercial, and while separated in the market, they will not be completely segregated with different loading bays, etc. Standard commercial Society levies will apply.
