Seawell Selector leads The Trade at Welshpool.

Preenbank Pedigree led the Female trade and takes overall Bull Champion. Seawell Salers stand Reserve Overall Bull Champion and leads the pedigree bull prices. 4 bulls were sold to a top of 4,500gns and an average of £3,806 up from last year, Pedigree females sold to a top of 3,100gns and an average of £1,710 .

The pre-sale show, sponsored by Tithebarn Ltd, was judged by Mr Geraint Evans, Geraint tapped out Mr Fred Robinson, Preenbank Toro a March 2023 born bull a Cleuchhead Pedro son out of Preenbrank Reachael as his Junior Champion and Overall Champion, he sold for 2,900gns to AJ & JM Abberley. Standing Senior Champion and Reserve Overall Champion was Seawell Selector from P.M & S.M. Donger a March 2022 born bull sired by Omarsy and out of Seawell Kama he sold for the top price of 4,500gns to GJ Williams. A Second prize winner and Reserve Senior Champion Gentons Solardo a May 2022 born bull from Bertand Facon Gentons herd, Sired by Gentons Pablo Polled ET sold for 3,600gns to DA Williams. Another second prize winner from Bertand Facon Gentons Herd, was Gentons San Francisco January 2022 bull sired by Murphy who stood champion at the Concours National salers show in Aurillac France, he sold to PJ Carrington for 3500gns. Reserve Junior Champion was awared to Rigel Tex a March 2023 bull from Rigel Pedigree Sired by Lascaux and out of Rigel Parthenia.

J F Robinson & Sons, Preenbank Pedigree was also awared the best pen of Salers and the best of Commercial Salers.

Four Bulls sold to a top price of 4,500gns and an average of £3,806.

Leading the Pedigree female trade was March 2022 born Preenbank Snowdrop and her Heifer calf at foot who was purchased for 3100gns by AJ & JA Powell from the Grove Farm Herd, also joining the Grove Farm Herd is Preenbank Sheree a March 2022 born cow with her Bull calf at foot which sold for 2650gns. Up next was Preenbanks Serena Sired by Cleuchhead Pedro she sold with her Heifer calf at foot for 2850gns to D & G Andrew. Selling for 1450gns to TJ Hamer from the Henley Herd, was Preenbank Tina a March 2023 Heifer sired by Cleuchhead Pedro and out of Preenbank Lady Zena, also joining the Henley Herd is another two Lots Preenbank Tarka selling for 1350gns and Preenbank Tetty selling for 1400gns. Preenbank Tallula a March 2023 born Heifer sold for 1550gns to DP & MA Jones also heading home with them is Preenbank Tamsin another March 2023 born heifer. Preenbank Tuip an April 2023 born heifer sold for 1500gns to C Lloyd.

Up next in the ring was a production sale of females from Simon Hill, Luchabolsh Salers where Luchabolsh Hyper a Seawell Miracle daughter born March 2022 sold for 1600gns to J R James also catching their eye was Luchabolsh Icon sired by Seawell Magic an April 2023 heifer sold for 1180gns. Up next a Luchabolsh Icicle , Luchabolsh Izzy and Luchabolsh Imagine all March 2023 heifers sired by Seawell Magic all sold for 1100gns selling to EJW Griffiths. A Seawell Miracle daughter born March 2023 Heifer Luchabolsh Lgloo sold for 1000gns to JR James.
