The Interest in Salers continues.
Cracking trade at Welshpool Livestock Market for the Salers Spring Society Sale – 8 Bulls averaged £4803.75, topping at £6824. Cow and calf made £2835, Commercial heifers averaged £1472.50.
Lot 198 Seawell Kincaid made top price of 6,500gns, this March 2015 bull sired by Seawell Governor out of French import Ventouse from PM & SM Donger, Towcester was sold to Salers breeder Simon Hill from Newport Pagnall.
Lot 191 was the only female in the pedigree section. Kington Eve with calf at foot made 2700gns. Sired by Rigel Tribute Kington Eve is out of Rigel Paloma Poll born February 2015 she is already showing her excellent breeding traits with a strong female calf by her side. She came from S L Simmons, Devon and was bought by J S Abel, Cwmbelan, Powys.
Judge Michael Rees Thomas from Carmel, Gwynedd put lot 198 the top price bull as Champion, with Rigel Kermit Poll as the reserve. Kermit made 4000gns selling to GG Williams, Tylwch, Powys.
Interest in the breed continues to spread and the cattle lines showed this with plenty of activity.
