Lot 7, From J Pirie, Kingussie – Chapelpark Hawk, this April 2013 born bull was calf at foot of Chapelpark Una at the Royal Highland Show 2013, Una took the female Salers Champion and reserve overall. Hawk sired by Chapelpark Arron is a big powerful bull.
Lot 15 From A MacKenzie, Fortrose – Whitebog Iain born June 2013 is a Seawell Diplomat son out of Whitebog Tilli, one of four bulls put forward from Whitebog Salers, Fortrose
Females were in demand with top price of 2700gns going to lot 26 from S & R Hallos, Ripponden, W Yorkshire – Beeston Hall Gorgeous, a two year old heifer in calf to Beeston Hall Fin (Salers Society Bull of the Year 2014).
11 females sold to an average of £2100.
Overall, a good show of Salers and a good sale. Farmers are looking at the rewards of easy calving and good growth offered by the Salers breed for both pedigree and commercial cattle.
