A small but select group of Salers were forward for a successful day at Welshpool Livestock Centre on 16th May.
Leading the trade at 4800gns was Seawell Gazette from PM and SM Donger. Gazette is by Ultra, a French bred bull who is renowned for producing excellent heifers, with his male offspring proving to be suberb crossing bulls. He sold to Messrs Jones of Welshpool.
Top price cow and calf came from Wilf and Christine Burrows. Hampton Ivy sold for 3100gns to Aled Jenkins, Llandusul, Ceredigion.
While in-calf heifers sold to 3250gns for Hampton Faith, also from Wilf and Christine Burrows and selling to Aled Jenkins.
Averages: Seven bulls £4462.50, cows and calves £2397.50, in-calf and bulling heifers £2852.50.
